Zaporizhzhia police apprehended a man for unlawfully taking someone else's vehicle.

On October 19, a 63-year-old woman reported to the authorities that her GAZ-24 car had been stolen. According to her statement, the vehicle, which was missing its battery, had been parked in the courtyard of her apartment building. When she went outside in the morning, she discovered that her car was gone.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zaporizhia region.

The police conducted a series of investigative measures, examined the crime scene for the presence of surveillance cameras, and interviewed witnesses. By tracking the route of the offender, they located the stolen vehicle and identified the thief. He turned out to be a 27-year-old local resident.

It was discovered that the suspect towed the vehicle to a garage cooperative using a car of the same make.

The investigators have informed the suspect of his charge for committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
