A 35-year-old man was arrested in the Nikopol district for extorting money from his own mother.
The suspect threatened the woman with damage to her property and demanded 17,000 hryvnias from the victim.

At the end of November, a resident of Pokrov contacted the police. The woman stated that her 35-year-old son had been demanding money from her. After she refused, the offender damaged the blinds and the entrance door of the victim's office and sent photos of the damage to his mother's phone. Terrified, the woman transferred money to her son's account. The suspect spent it for his own needs.
Police documented the criminal activities of the 35-year-old resident of Pokrov and on December 17, informed him of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 189 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
