Just a few hours after the terrorist attack, law enforcement apprehended the direct perpetrator of the crime. He turned out to be a 37-year-old native of Dnipro, who had been living in Odesa and working for the Russian special services.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Investigators found that the man did not act alone; he had two accomplices. They were a couple – a 33-year-old man and his 25-year-old wife, who lived together with their underage child.
According to Russian instructions, they manufactured a homemade explosive device for the attack, concealed it in a bag, placed it in a predetermined location, and monitored it until the "executor" retrieved the package. Surveillance footage showed them placing the explosive device while holding their child.
As a result of a search conducted at their residence, law enforcement discovered and seized components for a new device, thereby preventing a new terrorist attack in the Dnipro region.
Currently, all three accomplices of the enemy are in custody.
