A morgue worker removed a wedding ring from the hand of a fallen soldier serving in the Kryvyi Rih brigade. Here are the details.

The perpetrator removed a gold ring from the hand of a defender while preparations for the burial were underway. For this act, he faces a penalty of up to five years of restricted freedom or up to seven years of imprisonment.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.

Recently, during the funeral ceremony of a military man, his wife noticed that his wedding ring was missing. The woman reached out to the police for assistance, as she was certain that the gold piece of jewelry was in place before the body was taken to the morgue. Subsequently, law enforcement established that a morgue employee, who was preparing the fallen soldier's body for burial, was involved in the disappearance of the ring.

The perpetrator removed the gold ornament from the defender's finger using pliers. Currently, the individual has been charged under part 3 of Article 297 (Desecration of a grave, other burial site, or the body of the deceased) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
