Zaporizhia police are investigating the circumstances and seeking witnesses of a fatal car accident in the Dnipro district.

As a result of a traffic accident in the Dnipro district of the regional center, a pedestrian lost her life. Law enforcement has initiated a criminal investigation into the incident. Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zaporizhzhia region reported this.

Yesterday, January 30, around 6:00 PM, the Zaporizhzhia District Police Department received a report about a traffic accident involving a victim. Investigators and emergency medical personnel were working at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a 22-year-old driver of a VAZ-2114 vehicle struck a 46-year-old woman who was crossing the roadway at a regulated pedestrian crossing on Hrebelna Street. The victim was hospitalized but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries during resuscitation efforts.

In connection with the traffic accident, investigators have opened a criminal case, with legal qualification under part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by individuals managing vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
