After the full-scale invasion on March 22, 2022, a 40-year-old senior sergeant of the border service in the Luhansk region failed to report for duty in the Severodonetsk area. It later became clear that the man had voluntarily defected to the enemy's side.

It is known that the man held the position of "inspector" in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the "Bilovodsk" area, which is temporarily occupied. He is charged with desertion under martial law and voluntary service in illegal law enforcement agencies established in the temporarily occupied territory, as per part 4 of Article 408 and part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
