This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR).
The perpetrators fabricated false reports claiming that the woman was allegedly participating in combat operations along the front line. From July 2023 to April 2024, she unlawfully received over 922,000 hryvnias in additional compensation. Throughout this period, the woman served alongside her husband and engaged in horse breeding at a specialized farm, even spending two weeks in Poland after leaving her military unit without permission.
Currently, the former brigade commander, his wife, and two of his subordinates have been charged with misappropriation of property through abuse of office by a group of individuals in especially large amounts (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In addition, the men and another subordinate of the commander are suspected of official forgery (Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), while the woman is accused of leaving the military unit without authorization (Part 5 of Article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The penalties under these articles include imprisonment for up to twelve years with confiscation of property.
