Umierov met with Austin ahead of the Ramstein meeting.

During the meeting, the preparations for the upcoming session were discussed, as well as the ongoing needs for military assistance to Ukraine at least until the end of 2027.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. They discussed preparations for the upcoming "Ramstein" meeting and key areas of cooperation.

The Ministry of Defense reported this through its press service.

"Today, coalition leaders are finalizing 'roadmaps' for each of the eight cooperation areas, which will outline strategic objectives and key military aid needs at least until the end of 2027," Umerov stated.

He emphasized that all these documents were developed and agreed upon jointly by Ukraine and its partners.

They will serve as the foundation for support and allocation of aid across several areas, including:

  • Air defense;
  • Artillery;
  • Armored vehicles;
  • Drones;
  • Air Force;
  • Maritime security, etc.

"A lot of work lies ahead," the Ukrainian Defense Minister concluded.
