In the unrecognized Transnistria, officials claim they have enough gas reserves to last until the end of January.

Additionally, the region has agreed to receive gas supplied by the state-owned company "Moldovagaz" and is willing to pay for it.
В непризнанном Приднестровье уверяют, что у них есть запас газа до конца января.

The authorities of the unrecognized Transnistria claim that the existing reserves of natural gas will be sufficient for another 11 days under a frugal consumption regime.

This was stated by the so-called Minister of Economic Development, Sergey Obolonik.

“There is enough gas resource for 11 days at the current consumption rate. Thus, based on our forecast, as we mentioned, until the end of January. This forecast is being confirmed. As of today, the situation has not changed,” he noted.

For his part, the leader of the unrecognized Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, declared that the region is willing to receive gas delivered by the Moldovan state company “Moldovagaz” and is prepared to pay for it.

Meanwhile, the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, reported that the country is ready to provide urgent assistance to unrecognized Transnistria to overcome the energy crisis, and later, financial support may also be discussed – but only after the withdrawal of Russian troops.

“We reiterate our offer, including the assistance we can provide – generators, medical aid, medicines – everything that people need during this period,” Sandu emphasized. She noted that financial assistance is also possible.

“However, this will only be possible after the withdrawal of the Russian army and the replacement of the ‘peacekeeping’ mission with a civilian mission under the auspices of the UN or the EU. These are the main conditions under which we can come and provide significant assistance. This help must come from our development partners, as we are still in a difficult financial situation,” Sandu stated.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that on December 9, the separatist state of Transnistria declared a state of emergency in the region due to the risk of a potential halt in Russian gas supplies. Now, the decree must be approved by the local parliament.
