The furniture manufacturer "Akord Import" (Khmelnytskyi) plans to nearly triple its production capacity by constructing a new factory in Khmelnytskyi, where it aims to create 140 new jobs.

This was reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada on Economic Policy, Dmytro Kysylevskyi.

"In Khmelnytskyi, the construction of a new factory for furniture production has commenced. The investor of the project is 'Akord Import.' Once the new factory is operational, its production capacity will increase from 420,000 sq. m to 1.2 million sq. m of furniture per month. This will allow the company to enter the top 5 furniture manufacturers in Europe," he wrote.

According to him, the investment volume for the new project is $14 million. The launch of the first production lines is scheduled for July 2025, with full capacity expected to be reached in September.

Kysylevskyi mentioned that to meet energy needs, a solar power plant with a capacity of 1.1 MW has been built, and an additional 2.8 MW is under construction, along with the procurement of a gas piston unit.

"Currently, 'Akord Import' is operating at 100% capacity. Approximately 70% of the company's furniture orders come from the international retail chain JYSK, which increased its orders for furniture from Ukraine by one-third in 2025," he stated.

According to Kysylevskyi, 'Akord Import' exports 96% of its produced goods to EU countries, and the launch of the new factory will expand the geography of export supplies to countries in the Middle East, South Asia, and South America.

He also added that the owners of 'Akord Import' – the Hrabars – started with furniture imports, and now it is the largest exporter of furniture in Ukraine.

The MP clarified that to replace the imported corrugated cardboard used by the company for packaging furniture, another enterprise is currently being built in Khmelnytskyi to produce this product.

"And the supplier of wooden boards for 'Akord Import' is 'Kronospan,' which recently launched a production line in Rivne region," Kysylevskyi added.
