Johnson explained how British forces are set to assist Ukraine.

According to the former prime minister, this refers to a "part of the resolution" in which peacekeeping forces oversee the border and assist the Ukrainian people.
Джонсон рассказал, как британские войска могут помочь Украине.

The British military should assist in safeguarding Ukraine's borders as part of any peace agreement.

Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, stated this in an interview with The Telegraph.

“The responsibility for securing any potential future ceasefire line in Ukraine should be entrusted to a multinational grouping of European peacekeeping forces,” he said.

According to him, British troops could be deployed in Ukraine to support the ceasefire regime. The ex-premier added that this does not involve combat troops to confront the Russians, but rather “part of the solution,” where peacekeeping forces monitor the border and assist the Ukrainians.

The politician noted that Western countries need to define what security guarantees Ukraine will receive. NATO membership for the country could be one option; however, many NATO member states are concerned about expediting the review process of Ukraine's membership application.

Nonetheless, the presence of troops from NATO countries as part of UN peacekeeping forces in Ukraine along the ceasefire line would serve as an alternative to Article 5 of the Charter.

Jonson also stated that Britain bears a “moral responsibility” for Ukraine because the country signed the Budapest Memorandum. He clarified that in 1994, Britain cooperated with the Russians and deprived Ukrainians of nuclear weapons that could have protected them from the nightmare they are facing now.

“We were part of this. We signed the memorandum. We bear a moral responsibility for their situation,” he emphasized.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Britain secretly sent Ukraine a new batch of Storm Shadow missiles. This was done before the announcement regarding Ukraine's permission to carry out long-range strikes against Russia.
