Австралия частично запретила китайский чат-бот DeepSeek.

Australia has banned the Chinese application with integrated artificial intelligence, DeepSeek, for all government systems and devices. This decision was made for national security reasons.

According to Bloomberg, the Minister of Home Affairs of Australia, Tony Burke, stated that the country's intelligence agencies discovered that the technology poses an unacceptable risk.

He emphasized that this is not related to the fact that the app is Chinese. The government's approach was "country-independent and focused on the risks to the Australian government and our assets," the minister highlighted.

"Artificial intelligence is a technology that has potential and capabilities, but the government will act decisively when our agencies identify a threat to national security," Burke said.

The ban does not apply to private users, but the politician urged Australians to "protect their privacy."

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) urgently restricted the processing of data from Italian users by Chinese companies providing the DeepSeek service.
