According to the order from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, issued on January 11, approximately 50,000 servicemen from all branches and types of troops will be transferred to the Ground Forces to replenish combat brigades in order to initiate the rotation process.
Reportedly, this information was shared by Ukrainska Pravda citing a source in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the source, the purpose of such a large-scale transfer is to commence the first rotation since the beginning of the full-scale war three years ago.
“The resources currently training at educational centers are only sufficient for minimal replenishment of units, not for fully equipping the combat component. However, thanks to these movements among the troops and recruitment, we will be able to achieve this. A rotation plan has already been approved,” the source explained to “UП”.
The interlocutor noted that the start of rotations is not linked to potential negotiations to end the war or freeze the front line. He stated that the Ukrainian army can carry out rotations even under wartime conditions.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law regarding the deployment of Armed Forces units abroad during martial law (No. 12378). A total of 317 deputies voted in favor.
