In South Korea, generals suspected of involvement in the declaration of martial law have been dismissed.

In South Korea, four senior commanders have been officially dismissed due to their alleged involvement in the short-term declaration of martial law by President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The decision, made by the disciplinary committees of the Ministry of Defense and the Army, affects the head of the Defense Intelligence Command, Lieutenant General Yeo In Hyun; the head of the Defense Intelligence Command, Major General Moon Sang Ho; the head of the Capital Defense Command, Lieutenant General Lee Jin Woo; and the commander of the Army Special Operations Command, Lieutenant General Kwak Jeong Keun.

The commanders are suspected of participating in operations that led to the declaration of martial law on December 3.

It is expected that the decision will take effect on Tuesday when the ministry will officially inform the four commanders about it.

Disciplinary actions are also being considered against Army Chief of Staff General Pak An-Soo, who was the commander during the brief period of martial law. He was removed from his duties in December of last year.
