Oschadbank and the group of companies “EKO-OPTIMA” have entered into a series of agreements to implement the project for the construction of the "Sokal Wind Farm" in the Lviv region, with a total capacity of 39.9 MW.
This was reported by the press service of Oschadbank.
It is noted that the "Sokal Wind Farm" project includes the installation of 7 wind turbines from the German company NORDEX, which are expected to generate approximately 122 million kWh of electricity annually.
“The total amount of financing provided by Oschadbank is 40 million euros and includes, in addition to lending, the provision of an irrevocable confirmed ‘green’ letter of credit totaling over 23 million euros, with the participation of the partner bank EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development),” the statement said.
“The construction of the Sokal wind farm will be of great importance both for the community and for the country as a whole. The project, which will take just over a year to implement, will have a positive impact on the country's energy balance in terms of restoring the generation capacities destroyed by Russia, and is also an important step towards greening the energy mix,” commented Yuriy Kation, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank, responsible for corporate business.
Reference.
“Eko-Optima” is the first private company in Ukraine that received a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in 2012 and built the first wind farm in Western Ukraine. Since its inception in 2011, the company has implemented a number of projects in the energy sector. At the same time, new investment projects, including small hydropower and biofuels, are continually being developed alongside operational facilities.
Currently, the group owns 18 solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of 216.8 MW, of which 88.5 MW are wind farms.
Oschadbank is a leader in energy financing with a market share of 30%. During 2024, after a decline in activity due to the full-scale war, the volume of loan agreements concluded by “Oschad” with energy sector enterprises in the corporate segment increased fourfold. In 2025, the bank continues to implement project applications developed with clients last year.
