Their number should be at least 200,000.
Зеленский озвучил количество миротворцев, необходимых Украине.

At least 200,000 peacekeepers will be needed in Ukraine to prevent a new attack from Russia following the signing of a ceasefire agreement.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky informed reporters after his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Zelensky stated that a contingent of 200,000 peacekeepers is the "minimum" required for Ukraine to defend against a potential new Russian offensive, assuming the Russian army consists of 1.5 million personnel, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine would maintain half that number – 800,000, as they currently do.

"Otherwise, it's nothing. Otherwise, it’s something akin to how the OSCE mission operated, and no one knew how it could help. They simply had offices – and that was it," the president emphasized.

Additionally, Zelensky noted that even such forces would only be part of the security guarantees needed for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian leader also mentioned that Kyiv is working on organizing a meeting with Trump. Zelensky stated that Ukraine will not agree to Russia's demands to sharply reduce the size of its military, predicting that Russian President Putin would require Ukraine to cut its armed forces to one-fifth of their current size.

"He wants that. We will not allow it," Zelensky said.

Recall that last year, in February, French President Emmanuel Macron discussed sending his troops to Ukraine at a meeting of partner countries he convened in Paris. However, the states were unable to reach a consensus on this issue.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that partner troops in Ukraine could become one of the best tools to force Russia to peace.

Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom have expressed readiness to send peacekeepers.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that while speaking at WEF 2025, Zelensky emphasized that Europe must cease to be second or third and must regain its authority on the global stage. The president criticized the weak policies of European leaders in the fields of defense and technology.
