This night, drones attacked Rostov, Novomoskovsk, and Engels in Russia's Kaluga region.
According to Meduza, reports indicate that seven Russian airports temporarily halted operations due to the assault from Ukrainian drones overnight. The airports affected include those in Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Grozny, Kaluga, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk.
Volgograd region Governor Andrey Bocharov stated that debris from one of the drones fell on the roof of a residential building, injuring one person.
In the Kaluga region, Governor Vladislav Shapsha reported that a fire broke out at an industrial facility during the drone's descent.
He did not specify which particular facility was hit. However, in the same Dzerzhinsky district, there is, for instance, the LLC "First Plant" – the largest oil refinery in the Kaluga region of Russia, with a nominal oil processing capacity of 1.2 million tons per year. Drones have targeted this site at least twice before, in March and May of last year.
There were disturbances in the Tula and Saratov regions as well.
"Local residents reported hearing no fewer than five explosions. According to them, drones were flying at low altitudes in the Sokolniki area of Novomoskovsk. Similar reports are coming from Engels (Saratov region) and Volgograd. Anti-air defenses are engaging targets. No official information has been released yet," wrote the propagandists.
In addition, Russian media reported an attack by drones on Rostov-on-Don, although details were scarce.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that during the past night, 40 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian territory. Of these, 17 targeted the Volgograd region, 12 the Kaluga region, nine the Rostov region, and two the Saratov region.
