President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that without military support from the U.S., it will be extremely difficult for Ukraine to survive both during the ongoing war and after its conclusion.
He mentioned this in his interview with NBC News.
During the Munich Security Conference, Zelensky emphasized that the chances of survival without assistance from the United States would be very slim, highlighting the critical importance of this support.
“Probably, it will be very, very, very hard. And, of course, in all difficult situations, you have a chance. But we will have very little chance, very little chance of surviving without the support of the United States. I think this is very important, critically important,” Zelensky explained.
He added that he does not even want to imagine a scenario where Ukraine is fighting Russia without U.S. support and doesn't want to think about the possibility that the two countries might cease to be strategic partners.
Zelensky also stated that Putin's call for negotiations is not aimed at ending the war but is an attempt to establish a ceasefire agreement, which would allow for the lifting of some sanctions and enable Russian troops to regroup.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated he was unaware of any meeting with Russian representatives at the Munich Security Conference. Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump had mentioned the possibility of such negotiations.
