Danish Prime Minister: NATO membership is the strongest safeguard for Ukraine.

Премьер-министр Дании: членство в НАТО — это наилучшая защита для Украины.

The simplest way to assist Ukraine in its war against Russia is to extend an invitation for it to join NATO.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated this at the Munich Security Conference during her speech.

“The best offer we can make to Ukraine is NATO membership. I understand that some NATO members oppose this. If Ukraine were in NATO, there would be no war in Ukraine. This is the easiest way to protect this country – to accept it into NATO,” said the Danish Prime Minister.

Frederiksen acknowledged that “this is a difficult path,” but “at the very least, we need to discuss this issue.”

“What security guarantees can we offer Ukraine that would be equivalent to NATO membership? I want to reiterate: the easiest way is to accept Ukraine into NATO. Of course, we need to consider the economy along with security guarantees,” the Danish Prime Minister added.

Background. Previously, Mind reported that since NATO membership is not currently being considered for Ukraine, it needs to receive another reliable security guarantee – an army of 1.5 million servicemen. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during discussions at the Munich Security Conference.
