The esports team of Passion UA in the Counter-Strike 2 discipline was unable to advance to the main stage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.
The club, recently founded by the Ukrainian national football player Oleksandr Zinchenko, made its debut in the main tournament of the season.
During the first three days of the "Opening Stage," Passion UA managed to win and lose two matches each, leading to a final match on the last day for a chance to advance to the "Legends Stage."
Their opponent was the international team Wildcard. On the first map (Inferno), the Ukrainians performed poorly, losing the first half 1:11; in the second half, they managed to recover five rounds but ultimately lost decisively.
The second map (Mirage) saw a reversal of the score, although the flow of the game was somewhat different. On the third map (Ancient), both teams delivered a very close and intense game, which went into overtime, where the more experienced players ultimately prevailed.
Wildcard – Passion UA 2:1 (13:6, 6:13, 16:13)
