The combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive direct funding of 2.5 billion UAH each month. These funds will be allocated among the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the purchase of drones.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, specifying that the Cabinet of Ministers supported the respective proposal from the Ministry of Defense regarding the provision of funds.
In December, the Ministry of Defense already transferred 2.1 billion UAH directly to the combat units of the Armed Forces for the procurement of drones, which allowed for a swift response to the needs of our brigades.
“We analyzed this experience and decided to scale up the initiative. Unit commanders will be able to use these funds to purchase the drones that are most effective for carrying out tasks on the front lines. This is yet another step towards creating a highly flexible supply system for the military, ensuring they have everything necessary to defend Ukraine,” noted Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
Background. It is worth recalling that recently the Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi revealed that Ukraine is developing its own air defense system to combat the Russian "Orlan."
