In 2024, the State Audit Office conducted nearly 12,000 control activities: 1,149 inspections and audits, over 10.4 thousand procurement monitoring sessions, and 213 state financial audits.

The head of the office, Alla Basalaeva, reported this.

“Last year, we engaged with the controlled entities to encourage them to take active measures to recover the financial violations identified through our control activities. This led to the return of 6.2 billion hryvnias to the budgets of various levels and to the accounts of enterprises, institutions, and organizations,” Basalaeva noted.

In total, the specialists of the office conducted financial audits and monitored procurements amounting to over 3.6 trillion hryvnias. This figure is double last year’s indicator of 1.8 trillion. Overall, it is nearly equal to the total revenues of the consolidated budget for 2024.

The head of the State Audit Office reminded that in 2024, there was an institutional transformation of the office due to the expansion of its powers to the level of the Anti-Fraud Coordination Service (AFCOS) and the enhancement of its capabilities to protect the financial interests of the European Union and international partners.
