The military medical commissions will undergo reform over a period of six months in two phases.
Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko announced this in an interview with “Suspilne.”
According to the minister, the first phase involves the ability to send an electronic document regarding health status to the territorial recruitment center.
“To ensure that we can send the electronic document, which indicates the health status of the patient who has come to the medical commission, in electronic form to the recruitment center, and they can accept it. This is the first phase of the reform,” he stated.
Lyashko noted that during the second phase of the reform, individuals wishing to serve will have the option to choose their own hospital for medical examination. He explained that they could consult their family doctor, who will review their medical history and, in the absence of critical issues, can confirm their fitness and send the data to the recruitment center.
The head of the Ministry of Health emphasized that the speed of implementing the reforms depends on the Ministry of Defense, as digitalization in the healthcare system has occurred much earlier, and the relevant ministry is technically ready to provide the necessary data to the recruitment center. Meanwhile, the defense ministry is taking six months for these measures.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that on December 1, the Ministry of Defense, together with the Ministry of Health, presented a digital reform project for military medical commissions. It is noted that the current system for undergoing medical examinations creates unnecessary bureaucratic complications and corruption risks.
